Over FabianLWD
My name is Fabian Samidjono, a photographer based in Leeuwarden, which is a city in the north of The Netherlands/Holland. I started doing photography in 2007. Since then I've been experimenting with ways to convey my ideas. I think the following list will give you an idea of what is important to me:
• I'm a perfectionist, I am always looking for ways to make things better. Not only in my photography, but in all the things I do in life. Making 'mistakes' is part of the job. As long as you are aware of them you can learn from them. In that respect they can be very valuable. The lessons you've learned can be used on your next project;
• I love art, whether it be a book or a painting. There's lot's of information out there you can use in your advantage. One of my favorite writers at the moment is Herman Hesse. An example of a painting which I really like is, The Birth of Venus, a painting by Sandro Botticelli;
• It is not only looks which I'm interested in. The person behind it is far more interesting. Tell me what you do in your life: Which artists do you like? What music you are listening to? What are your hobbies? etc.
• I practice a lot of aikido, which is a Japanese martial art. It keeps me balanced en gives me certain insights. The things I learn from aikido can be used in my photography as well;
• I love to travel. Meeting new people and getting to know new cultures is a very important thing to me. Sometimes it puts everything in perspective. It can make you appreciate the small things in life;
• Smile. Don't take life too seriously ;)
